The subsidy landscape is changing rapidly. The right approach makes all the difference – from 1 January 2026, the purchase of a fully electric lorry will no longer be eligible for the Flemish Ecology Grant. The Flemish Government has therefore removed road transport technologies from the exhaustive list of eligible technologies.
That does not mean that the electrification of refrigerated transport is no longer eligible for funding. On the contrary. There are still various options for supporting electrification, energy infrastructure and related investments.
The support you are eligible for depends on the technology, the investment and the way in which you approach the project.
That is why we factor in grants into your business case right from the start. We closely monitor the available support schemes and regulations, identify which opportunities are relevant to your project, and incorporate them directly into your return on investment analysis.
We will guide you through the process of applying for and obtaining the available support — from submitting the correct application through to the subsequent follow-up.
This way, you will not only know which investment is paying off today, but you will also make the most of the financial support available at that time.

ViaVolta was founded on a pragmatic vision: electrification is the future of refrigerated transport, but not every form of electrification is already cost-effective today. The technology exists and is developing rapidly. The question is therefore no longer simply whether it is technologically feasible, but which solutions are already profitable today — and which are not yet.

Jeroen worked with various clients on product strategy, digital transformation and commercial growth. Whilst at Daimler, he oversaw the European roll-out of digital solutions and gained first-hand insight into the truck sector and its operational challenges.
